Our Chidren must learn to pray

Pray together at meal times and bedtime

Make a prayer corner in your home

Liturgical calendar - use it to teach your children about Fasting, Feasts, Lent and Pascha

Devotion to saints - Stories, Icons, Shrines, etc.
Include prayer in holiday celebrations

 

Our Chidren must learn to worship in Community

Sunday Divine Liturgy is important for the whole Family

We must teach children to respect the presence of God in church

Use age-appropriate pictures books at the Divine Liturgy

Teach children that we worship with our bodies, hearts, minds, and souls.

 Our Chidren must learn christian attitudes
Sense of the sacred
Loyalty to family
Love for the good, the true, and the beautiful
Habits of respect and service
Sense of hope

Our Chidren must learn To avoid and resist sin

Begin with obedience to parents. Even toddlers can begin to learn to choose their own actions.

Age of reason - about seven or eight years old. Best age to understand sins and confession.

Near occasion of sin - remember what that means?
